1.    Visual impact: Consider having murals by artists as focal points. Large-scale murals can transform otherwise plain or nondescript spaces, such as lobbies. Bold and vibrant murals can draw guests' attention and make a memorable impression. These may be used in areas which are higher up and not physically reachable, but prominently seen. For the rest of the walls and surfaces in high-traffic areas, choose neutral or light colours. Neutral tones are more forgiving of scuffs and scratches and are easier to touch up when needed. They also create a clean and inviting atmosphere. 

    2.    Paint Selection: Invest in high-quality, durable paints specifically designed for high-traffic areas. Look for paints with high levels of acrylic or urethane, as these formulations are more resistant to wear and tear. Opt for satin or semi-gloss paint finishes, which are easier to clean and more resistant to scuff marks and stains compared to flat or matte finishes. These finishes also reflect more light, brightening up the space.

    4.    Application: Apply a high-quality primer before painting to ensure better adhesion and longevity of the paint. Primer helps create a smooth surface and improves paint coverage. Apply at least two coats of paint to ensure even coverage and maximum durability. Allow sufficient drying time between coats as per the manufacturer's instructions. Consider applying a clear protective coating or sealer over murals and other painted surfaces to provide an extra layer of protection against abrasion, moisture, and stains. Polyurethane or epoxy coatings are commonly used for this purpose.

    5.    Maintenance: Besides use of durable paints, washable paints and regularly cleaning surfaces. Implement a regular maintenance schedule to touch up any damaged or worn areas promptly. This can help extend the lifespan of the paint and keep the space looking fresh and well-maintained.
